Is the Membership Worth It?
The membership pays for itself in a single sit for almost everyone. My first Bochum sit covered the membership cost by a factor of roughly 20 to 1. Hotels in Bochum were running €120 to €200 per night. Two weeks would have been close to €2,000. The membership cost €96.
Everything after that first sit is pure saving. Across 17 sits since June 2023, we have stayed in a three-storey Swiss chalet that rents for around €650 per night, a property 500 metres from the Sydney Harbour Bridge, apartments in Athens, Bari, Cortona, and Lullin, and homes across Europe and Australia. The total accommodation cost of those 17 sits: zero.

Should You Wait for Black Friday?

Your profile is read before your application. Build a strong profile with real photos, a clear personal statement, and references before you apply to anything. A thin profile with one photo and two sentences will not convert.

Your first sit is the hardest to get. Look for shorter or local sits to build your first reviews. Once you have three to five five-star reviews, the range of sits available expands significantly. The video call with the homeowner is also part of the process. Treat it as a conversation, not an interview.
